Art’s Birthday – Die Klaviatur des Kreises

In 2025 on Friday January 17th, it is once again a loud, crashing and glittering ceremony in honor of art:

Ö1 Kunstradio is taking part in the Art's Birthday celebrations - this year for the first time under the new program name “Kunst zum Hören” - with a performance party and a live radio broadcast. This evening is called “Die Klaviatur des Kreises”, alluding to the German saying for “squaring the circle”. The following performances are planned: The collective Feldarbeiterinnen (Elisabeth Falkinger, Clara Jacquemard, Veronika Persché, Johanna Schlömicher and Petra Sturm) knit a field of yarn and sounds. Conny Zenk makes her synth bike pulsate and sends out moving loudspeakers. Author and performer Jopa Jotakin shoots words through the room and catches them again with the theremin. And Chris Janka on his sparkling guitar, in a duet with his sound chandelier, ensures that a few sparks of joy fly through the starry, starry night.

All this with free admission in Studio 3 of the Radiokulturhaus, on site between 8 pm (this time sharp!) and 10 pm; and live on air between 10:08 pm and midnight. Long live the “Eternal Network” that Robert Filliou once declared and may the “Fete Permanente” never end! Art turns 1,000,062 years old!
