A non-linear "re-invented radio" play by Andrew Garton in collaboration with Steve Law streaming live from Toy Satellite (Melbourne, Australia) via free2air (London, UK).
A reading of Guy Debord's "Theory of the Derive" amidst the jargon of the Victorian State Government's Melbourne 2030 vision, references drawn from lodged development applications and the policy frameworks many are approved by.
Balancing culture, heritage, community, ecology and commerce with the needs of an ever-expanding population and the demands made on stressed infrastructures and diminishing resources.
Performed by Andrew Garton, Steve Law, Justina Curtis, Beth Schubel, Mark Tallon with technical support from Adam Burns (free2air), Grant McHerron (c2o/Toy Satellite) and Roderick Garton (Caesarian - text cut-up engine).
Produced by Toy Satellite for Re-inventing Radio, an ORF/Kunstradio co-production with Ars Electronica 2004.
