Mia Zabelka, teilnehmende Künstlerin am globalen Webcast-Projekt
"Sound Travels" zwischen Vancouver, New York, San Diego, Toulouse,
Melbourne und Wien, hat aus smtlichen Soundstreams der on site
Live-acts fr 1 Kunstradio eine eigene Radioversion gemixt und geschnitten.
Das Konzept des Knstlers Paul Plimley sah eine zweitgige akustische "Reise" vor,
die die Grenzen von bertragung, aber auch von Kommunikation ausloten sollte.
Vancouver bildete hierin sowohl den Ausgangspunkt als auch eine konstante
base station, wozu sich die KnstlerInnen der "Satelliten"-Stdte in einer choreographierten Abfolge einschalteten -- nicht zuletzt aufgrund enormer Zeitunterschiede.
Fr Ö1 Kunstradio hat Mia Zabelka mit den Streams aus Toulouse,
New York, Vancouver und Wien eine Radioversion gemixt; als Brücke
zwischen den Stcken dient der Sound des Jupiternebels, der auf der
Voyager-Mission aufgenommen wurde.

Mia Zabelka, participating artist in the global webcast project "Sound Travels"
between Vancouver, New York, San Diego, Toulouse, Melbourne and Vienna has
mixed and cut a radio version for ORF Kunstradio using the sound streams
of all the on site live acts.
With his concept, Paul Plimley intended to create a 2-day acoustic journey
investigating the barriers of transference and of communication. Vancouver
was the starting point as well as a constant base station, and the
artists streaming from the "satellite" venues joined in according to
a choreographical set-up (not least due to the huge differences of time zones).
For Ö1 Kunstradio, Mia Zabelka has arranged and mixed a special radio version cojoining the sound streams from Toulouse, New York, Vancouver and Vienna, and using the sound of the Jupiter Nebula recorded on the Voyager mission as transition between the pieces.
