Etwa 50 Prozent des Soundmaterials, das Ignaz Schick fr seine Improvisationen und Konzerte verwendet sind Soundscapes, akustische Momentaufnahme, die der Knstler in den letzten zehn bis fnfzehn Jahren an den verschiedensten Orten aufgenommen und gesammelt hat. Fr seine Live-Auftritte installiert Schick oft Mikrophone im ffentlichen Raum. Die damit aufgenommenen Gerusche - in den Konzertsaal bertragen und durch den Verstrker gejagt - flieen unmittelbar in Schicks Live-Improvisationen ein.

Fr sein Stck "Metaflexes" hat sich Ignaz Schick auf einen akustischen Erkundungmarsch durch Wien begeben. Die eingefangenen und zum Teil nachbearbeiteten Soundscapes lsst er in einer Live-Performance auf Sounds treffen, die er unmittelbar whrend der Sendung aufnimmt. Ignaz Schick: "So entsteht ein mehr oder weniger stark manipulierter akustischer Abdruck des ursprnglichen Environments."

About 50 percent of the soundmaterial, which Ignaz Schick uses in his improvisations and performances, usually consists out of soundscapes. They are acoustic snapshots recorded by the artist at different types of locations over the last decade. For his live-performances Schick usually installs microphones in the public space. The sounds recorded by these microphones are transmitted to the site of the performance, and - amplified - become part of the live-improvisation.

For "Metaflexes" Schick has on walks through the city of Vienna collected a series of acoustic snapshots. In his live performance to be simulcast on air and on line for studio RP4 in Viennas broadcasting house Schick will mix his recorded and partly pre-processed soundscapes with the sounds coming live from two microphones outside the building.
